Employee travel and the dress code. Going on vacation soon and don’t know what
to wear when you travel? While we may not be able to help you choose the right

available and positive space travel. According to Air Canada’s Dress Code,
unacceptable attire includes beach clothing, shorts, sports attire (such as
jogging suits or work-out clothing) and torn or cut-off clothing. Unacceptable
footwear includes athletic footwear and beach sandals. All active and retired

. In response to the article regarding the lomngest flight in NetLetter nr
836,
Subject: Re: [The NetLetter] NetLetter nr 836 - The NetLetter
My name is Andy St-Laurent emp # 87491
Retired Flight Service Director
I have a question for Herb Noble in regards to his article about the
Super  Constellations. He mentions the whole flight deck crew but omits any
members  of the back end crew.
Who served those 68 passengers during a 19 hour + flight. ??

and Herb says -
Yes of course!, how stupid of me, and to think that the flightbags of today
have a rest centre! not to be found on the 1049G's, but come to think of it,
no booze to serve in those days either!, I can tell you one thing, that LHR
layover was 48 hours and it took every one to get over it!
thanks for the reminder
Herb

Subject: Searching for someone who knew Mary Fogarty
From: "Murielle St-Germain" <This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.>
I would be interested in exchanging with flight attendants or anyone who would
have known,
fairly well, a flight attendant by the name of Mary Fogarty. If you could
include a short
paragraph in your next NetLetter, it would be very much appreciated.
Mary was born in 1929 in Nova Scotia and was of Irish ethnic origin. She was a
graduate
nurse prior to flying with TCA. She would have flown in the 50's until she
married in 1958.
Eva Mossop knows of her, but never flew with her.

. Air Canada news.
Vancouver saves the day for Air Transat. As reported in our Technical Services
weekly Hot Sheet, Air Transat recently called on Vancouver Heavy Maintenance
when one of its A330s was damaged by a bridge. The base juggled its operations
to free hangar space and swiftly assembled an AOG crew in time to receive the
aircraft on Monday (June 28) night. Not wasting any time, a Sheet Metal crew
cut away a damaged stringer and, upon receiving parts from Winnipeg and
Montreal, spliced in a new one in time for the aircraft's revenue flight at 5
p.m. on Wednesday. “The team did an excellent job,” said Dave O’Neill, Sales
Account Manager, Vancouver. “This will bode well as we are currently presenting
four different maintenance proposals to this customer.”

. Smilie.
On Benbecula, one of Scotland's Western Isles, a British Airways ATP with
55 passengers had to circle for half an hour while the only controller on duty
took her lunch break. The flight had departed from Glasgow late, and the
controller, realizing that she was in danger of exceeding her mandated two-hour
duty cycle, advised her regional colleague to place the aircraft in a holding
pattern. A spokesperson apologised for the incident and blamed it all on a
'shortage of qualified controllers'
