District Directors Meeting
The District Directors Meeting was held in Ottawa on October 26th with the
National Executive. One of the highlights was a talk given by Reine Khantchand,
Manager, Employee Travel and Recognition. Reine advised that December 14th 2002
will be the date of implementation of the new "ticketless’ pass travel system
and encouraged all retirees to endeavour to get on line or at least try and get
help from someone who is computer literate for future pass registration. Voice
recognition registration will still be available, but at this time the system
is not foolproof (company plans to update this system in the coming year). We
are anticipating that booklets outlining the new procedures will be available
in limited numbers by early December.

It is time to start thinking about Christmas and what a great way to kick it
off the season by planning to attend our Annual Christmas Luncheon. The
details are as follows:
LOCATION: Park Plaza/Vancouver Airport Conference Resort, 10251 St. Edwards
Drive, Richmond
DATE: December 12, 2002
TIME: 11:30AM
COST: $20.00
PARKING: Free. The will be no need to get a parking voucher from the
dispenser.
Your committee and the Park Plaza are promising a very special Christmas
Buffet, entertainment and as always great fellowship. Last year 500 members
and guests came out despite the wind and rain. As we fully expect this year
to be a sell out we urge you to immediately send your cheque payable to Air
Canada Pionairs, to Al Yallouz, 57 W42nd Ave., Vancouver, B. C. Should you
wish to make up a party and reserve a table for 10 it is essential that you
send one cheque only, along with names of those in your group. Deadline for
receipt of all cheques is December 5, 2002. For those that find it necessary

All Pilots have been invited to bring our spouses and join with the Maple
Wings Flight Attendants and their spouses for lunch on Dec 1st. I will give

I'm sure some of you have spouses who were Stewardess, and I think we should
give them our support. Some of us have visited with them at some of their
previous meetings and have had a great time meeting old friends and co workers.

Recently we had three days in Northern Ireland. Travelled on bmi to Belfast
City Airport
and then picked up a car and drove to the Northern coast and explored along
that, including the Giants Causeway which we walked along. Then drove south
to Inneskillen for the second night. Scenery along the North coast was great
and around the Enniskillen area are many lakes. No problems encountered.
Lot of B and Bs and prices around gbp19-2O pounds. Some give discount for
Senior
Citizens. Included Irish breakfast - full one. Everyone very friendly there.
Its a small area and in three days we drove through all counties quite
comfortably.
B&B's - Arch House, Tullyhona, a Farm Guest House & Restaurant located at
Florencecourt, Enniskillen in Co. Fermanagh, N.Ireland. Ensuite rooms with TV,
hairdryer etc.
