FREQUENCY OF FLIGHTS ON AC.
Those of you familiar with planning your itinerary from a printed timetable,
butunable to manage with the normal information available on the
travel.aircanada.ca employee network can download the PDF version of the time
table from aircanada.ca - it is the same as having your own printed timetable.
Clicking on the aircanada web site we are given 3 options for a timetable.
Clicking on the PDF option, we can see on screen the familiar pages of the
long gone printed timetable, with all the information I was looking for. To
find out about future flights that are NOT on the timetable page, going down
the list of individual cities (on the left side of the screen) and clicking
on the city of interest, the frequency and other details are shown on the
timetable page, to the right of the screen.

Subject: PNR
Regarding your note to remember that you must register two PNR's,
in Net Letter 630.
This thought takes me back to the old days, when a PNR was, and I believe still
is, the Point
of No Return. That is the navigational point, for both aircraft and ocean going
vessels, at which there will be insufficient fuel to return to your departure
point, or to a safe destination.
I can remember many times when I had to calculate the PNR for my flight, on
aircraft I flew
before TCA, and on TCA DC3s. I'm sure some of the old timers can relate.
Perhaps you should redefine PNR for us old timers. Hi Hi. Regards, Glen House

Subject: Constellation aircraft.
I think it may well be that you are long time aware of a special
characteristic built into the Connie as different from most civil airliners.
The point here being that quite a number of your younger readers may not be
aware of this extra most interesting feature.
Photographs of the Connie abound, taken of all angles and flight paths.
Memories too spring to mind. But to see a Connie on level flight say traversing
slow and low on the horizon it can be seen to be maintaining to quite a
noticeable "tail down" attitude. In your case Vesta this must register strongly
in your memories.
The reason being (if I am right) is that the Connie fuselage itself was
specially designed to add aerofoil lift therefore needed to maintain this tail
down attitude. This in turn requires that the tailplane continually has to
exert a tail down aerofoil action which in turn requires an opposite tab action
?
If all the above is true then does this mean that a keen eyed visitor to a sad
Connie site might notice a reverse elevator tab control???

Concorde Roars Back in Air Travel Boost
Concorde, the world's fastest
passenger jet, roared back into service on Wednesday
in a display of confidence in air travel after last
year's fiery crash that killed 113 people and the
Sept. 11 attacks that have left the airline industry
reeling. Air France flight AF002, carrying 92 mainly
fare-paying passengers, landed 5 minutes earlier than
scheduled at New York's John F. Kennedy airport after
a nearly 4-hour flight at twice the speed of sound from
Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. British Airways, the
aircraft's only other operator, flew a host of British
business leaders and celebrities from London's Heathrow
on an invitation-only Concorde which landed about an
hour later in New York. British Airways Concorde will
resume scheduled service on Friday. Concorde, an icon
of style, wealth and glamour since its commercial
launch 25 years ago.
EMIRATES MAKES FIRST BIG POST-SEPTEMBER 11 AIRCRAFT ORDER

Marking the start of the Dubai Air Show, Emirates announced this week it
had ordered 20 555-pax A380-800s for 2006-'09, two A380-800Fs for 2008, and
three A330-200s with Trents for delivery starting 2Q03, plus it signed an
LOI to order eight A340-600s with Trents.
It had originally committed for five A380-800s/two A380-800Fs. Engines for
the A380s have not yet been selected.
Emirates also signed LOI with Boeing to order 25 777-200s/300s (engines
TBD). It currently operates 13 777s with Trents.

. Star Alliance news - from YYZNEWS issued by Brian Dunn.
A panel of judges for the World Airline Entertainment Association has named
Air Canada's enRoute magazine the best in-flight magazine. The panel also
picked the airline as having the best in-flight entertainment guides within and
separate from the in-flight magazine, as well as having the best instructional
video. United Airlines was picked as having the best overall in-flight
entertainment.,
AC Jetz continues to get more and more sport team charters and one of the
Boeing
737s is departing Toronto on November 9th with the Raptors for their western
tour taking them first to Salt Lake City, then back to Denver, then out to
Sacramento (using Mather AFB) and then from Oakland to Los Angeles.
Lufthansa have switched their Frankfurt-Toronto service from a 747-400 to the
Airbus A340-300 for the winter. Inbound flight LH470 is scheduled to arrive at
1900hrs and outbound LH471 departs at 2050hrs.

runway and put the plane together piece by piece,
arguing non-stop about what kind of plane they are
supposed to be building.
Air DOS
Everybody pushes the airplane until it glides, then
they jump on and let the plane coast until it hits the
ground again. Then they push again, jump on again,
and so on...
Mac Airlines
All the stewards, captains, baggage handlers, and
ticket agents look and act exactly the same. Every
time you ask questions about details, you are gently
but firmly told that you don't need to know, don't
want to know, and everything will be done for you
without your ever having to know, so just shut up.

A copilot is a knothead until he spots opposite direction traffic at
12 o'clock, after which he's a goof-off for not seeing it sooner.
Without ammunition the USAF would be just another expensive flying club.
If something hasn't broken on your helicopter, it's about to.
I give that landing a 9 . . . on the Richter scale.
Basic Flying Rules:
1. Try to stay in the middle of the air.
2. Do not go near the edges of it.
3. The edges of the air can be recognized by the appearance of
ground, buildings, sea, trees and
interstellar space. It is much more difficult to fly there.
Unknown landing signal officer to carrier pilot after his 6th
unsuccessful landing attempt: "You've got to land here son, this is
where the food is."
