RE: Email Address Changes.
With the demise of @home.com as far as Canadian email users are concern,
there has been a deluge of change of address requests. It would be prudent
to help those with the necessity to change their address by make a few
points on how to do this.

Don't assume that every place you have put your email address handles it
the same way. That means you can't just put every address in your address
book in one email saying "Hi - here's our new address!"

Person to person is no problem and generally you can do this in groups by
using the Bcc (blind carbon copy) method to groups of your friends and
relatives.

However, when it comes to newsletters and website and mail list this is
another story. These are independently run separate entities. They all have
different ways of handling email address databases.

* First check to see if the entity requires you to change your own email
address in your profile - self-administering. This is generally true of all
places where you self-registered in the first place. Go to the place where
you first registered and there is usually the information on how to change
your address. Some times it is as simple as unsubscribing your old address
and subscribing your new address.

* Second, always give your old address as some lists only deal with
addresses - no names.

Here are some of the ways to change your email address with independently
operated entities of the ACFamily Network.

the NetLetter
- send your name, old address and new address to <This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.>

RAPCAN & RAPCAN eMailNews
- send your name, old address and new address to <This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.>

Pionairs Email Notification Service
- send old address and new address (names not listed) to
<This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.>

Your Pionairs membership file
- go to the Pionairs website www.pionairs.ca and you will find a change of
information form to submit via the Internet

ACFNews
- go to www.acfamily.net/acfnews/index.htm#subscription and simply
unsubscribe you old address and subscribe your new one (you will get an
email to acknowledge that you indeed what to subscribe - this is for your
protection against unwanted subscription.)

ACFNews Notification List
This is a list mainly of Air Canada email addresses which can only handle
text. If you are on this list:
- send your old address and new address (names are not listed) to
<This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.>

ACFamily Network Portal and Forums
All areas of the ACFNetwork Portal and Forums are self-administrating. They
do not have access to passwords so you must change your email address by
logging on with your old address, etc as before through www.acfamily.net
and click PROFILE and edit your profile which includes your email address.

Also change your address in the ConList by going to the ConList and
clicking MODIFY/RENEW LISTING, then put in your Conlist number and password
and then change your information.

If you have a classified ad, just follow the instruction for changing your
listing.
