Regarding ID cards, Industry Travel advise us -
Quote
We are half way through scanning pictures of former CDN retirees.
Our plan is a bit behind schedule and should expect the first cards
to be mailed by next week.
Letters will also be sent at the same time to those who need to
send us pictures.

. Our Chief pilot - Vesta found this -
Tuesday, December 11, 2001 Peter Mansbridge's comment.
"If you've ever been to St. John's you know the dominant spot on the
skyline. No matter where you are in that wonderful city this spot draws
you towards it.
It's Signal Hill of course. Historic in any season.
I remember a couple of winters ago visiting the Hill with my daughter
who'd flown with me to Newfoundland for a program we were taping there.
It was a cold, snowy and very windy day but we drove up the road to
visit a slice of this country's past. They were just getting ready to
close up for the day... no one else around except the guard at the
door. It was late afternoon and dark. Somehow that made it even more
exciting ...kind of like it must have been that day one hundred years
ago when Marconi received the first transatlantic radio signal at that
very spot.
100 years ago tomorrow, in fact. A great moment in communications in
a world now used to instant transmission from anywhere to anywhere by
almost any means around the world."
