We know of many of the pilots including GB Murray, Don Morrison, Hodson (ex AVM), Ormston, Blakeslee (USAF Colonel Don) and many others. Do you have any photos or history related to the period or pilots as we are building the aircraft to fly (mid 98 finish) for the pilots who fought in her and to show we care. From your Chief Navigator - Terry Just back from a memorable cruise to Alaska from Vancouver for 10 days (daze). The food was just great with feedings at breakfast, mid morning, lunch, mid afternoon, supper and midnight. We pigged out at all except the midnight one. Lots to keep you occupied in between meals - casino, bingo, library, swimming, deck games, variety shows, first run movies, 6 bar/lounges and various> exercise sessions. Except for purchases at the various ports, on our trip, which was Royal Caribbean, you need NO CASH, they give you a plastic encoded card against which ALL your expenses are charged - duty free, bar and land tours. The card is also your boarding card. On the final morning prior to debarkation, your bill is slipped under your door. If everything is OK then your credit card will automatically be billed - no long queues to settle your account, unless you wish to contest some of the charges. The scenery was just spectacular, and if you don't mind a cabin in which you can't swing a cat with a shower which wraps you in plastic everytime you use it, then it is the only way to go! Some of the optional land tours seem to be expensive, but if your trip is once in a lifetime, then you will probably enjoy some of them. Port fee & taxes, paid at time of reservation, ran to US$145.50 on our trip. Highly recommended - shop around for the best interline price, our neighbours paid 2.5 times our cost, and we did get a 3 level upgrade with an outside cabin! ~-=o0o=-~ . That's it for this time, please we need your input, send comments and email addresses of any others who may be interested to Vesta with a copy to Terry. -!- Landing on an Island in the Pacific. _____(~)_____ ! ! !
