Bombardier sell (3) DH Dash 8-300 50 passenger planes to the Caribbean carrier L.I.A.T. The first B777 accident happened in Hongkong International Airport. A Cathay Pacific B777-200 aircraft, registered as VR-HND, arrived from Bangkok. After it had touched down, the pilot found out that the Fire Alarm Alert System of the Forward Freight is ON. Pilot then asked all the passengers to leave the cabin immediately. A number of passengers were injured when they escaped out of the aircraft. After inspection it is believed that this accident was only due to an over-sensitive Alarm Alert System, and may have been due to the high humidity of the cargo, which are mostly fresh vegetables and fruits from Thailand. Air Canada announces a US$199 return fare from Atlanta to either Toronto or Montreal for those who wish to avoid the crowds at the Olympic Games. Air Canada and All Nippon Airways have signed a code aharing agreement. Cypress Airlines of Richmond B.C. will serve Prince George from Vancouver twice a day effective August 1st. U.K. charter Excalibur Airlines have gone into liquidation after a series of much publicized problems hurt consumer confidence. ~-=o0o=-~ .
