All submissions will be returned after being scanned. Photos should identify the name of the submitter, the location of the scene in the photograph and the identities of people if known. Eventually all archival pictures will be available on a web site. Found on the internet - Air Canada has launched the 'GO AC WEBSAVER' program, a new way for consumers on the internet to find out about last minute bargains on selected flights. UAL and Saudi Arabian Airlines have formed a marketing agreement. Crash of the Airborne Express DC8 in Virginia on Dec 22nd last was not related to mechanical or hydraulic systems failure. Pilots of Indian Airlines have called off their planned strike. Continental Airlines and Aeroflot have signed a code sharing agreement. Continental Airlines are negotiating to acquire Aerolineas Argentas Airlines. Atlantic Coast Airlines have ordered (12) Canadair RJ's with options for another 36. Continental Airlines to start daily service Newark to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro effective May 1st, and daily to Dusseldorf effective Mar 20th using DC10-30 equipment. Yemen Airways to purchase (2) Airbus A300 in March. Airbus Industrie received orders for 498 aircraft during 1996 and claim 42% of the market for aircraft seating more than 100. Emirates have ordered (16) Airbus A330-200 together with (37) Rolls Royce Trent 700 engines. Croatia Airlines ordered (6) A319 from Airbus Industries. From the Regulations for Operation of Aircraft circa 1920 . Pilots will not wear spurs. Pilots should carry handkies in a handy position to wipe off goggles. Riding on the steps, wings or tail of a machine is prohibited. Don't take the machine into the air unless you are satisfied it will fly. Don't turn sharply when taxiing. Instead have someone lift the tail around. In case the engine fails on takeoff, land straight ahead regardless of obstacles. ~-=o0o=-~ . The situation in Rwanda has deteriorated considerably to the degree that the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade is recommending against travel to that country. Indonesia has created a special 70 member English speaking Tourist police unit, with special red and brown uniforms to assist tourists.
