. Ron Munson of LHR sends us an update -

An American conman tried to buy a £700 ticket to Toronto with someone
else's credit card but Air Canada at LHR made checks and police were
waiting when he turned up to collect the ticket.
It was said that the conman had phoned asking for a ticket to Ontario
but, on being told Ontario was a province and not a city, he switched
to asking for Toronto and paid for the UKP731.50 ticket with a card
number which did not match up with his details.
Police searched his baggage and found a credit card which did not
belong to him and in his filefax was a list of credit card numbers
and expiry dates.
He admitted using the numbers to obtain a flight from Amsterdam to
LHR and for purchasing more than UKP700 of clothing in London.

. Smilie.
Sent to us by Gordon Dalziel.

United Airlines FA: "Ladies and Gentlemen, as you are all now
painfully aware, our Captain has landed in Seattle. From all of us
at United Airlines  we'd like to thank you for flying with us today
and please be  very careful  as you open the overhead bins as you
may  be killed by falling luggage that  shifted during our so called
"touch down."

About an American Airlines flight into Amarillo, Texas on a
particularly windy and bumpy day. One could tell during the final
that the Captain was really having to fight it, and after an
extremely hard landing, the Flight Attendant come on the PA and
announces, "Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Amarillo.
Please remain in  your seats with your  seat  belt fastened while
the Captain  taxies what's left of our airplane to the  gate!"

Another flight Attendant's comment on a less than perfect landing:
"We ask  you to please remain seated as Captain Kangaroo bounces us
to the terminal."

--=o0o=--

.  That's it for this time, please we need your input, send
comments and email addresses of any others who may be
interested to Vesta with a copy to Terry.
