. Need to know.
Make alternate arrangements if Bermuda is part of your travel plans.
Many tourists are expected in Bermuda until June 17, when the Tall Ships arrive.
Standby travel could be challenging for employees and their travel partners.
Employees should make alternate travel arrangements before leaving their home base.
In addition, please ensure travel partners are aware of travel rules and regulations.

. Found on the internet.
Lockheed 18 Lodestar - CF-TCY was delivered to T.C.A. on February 13th 1941 and
sold several years later to the Department of Transport. This aircraft is one of the few
survivors of the 15 aircraft fleet of Lodestars operated by T.C.A. in the early days.
This aircraft is presently undergoing restoration at the Canadian Museum of Flight in
Langley, B.C.

Brandon Airport, 8 kms north of Brandon, Manitoba received scheduled service daily
by T.C.A. starting June 1st 1948 with DC-3 equipment at the same time as Yorktown.
In  the spring of 1963, this  service was taken over by Transair Ltd.

June 6th, 1943, service was introduced from Vancouver to Victoria, BC.

June 15th 1956, North Star equipment was introduced to Boston.

. Capt Alan MacLeod sends us this update -
Subject: Lockheed CF-TCC UPDATE  June 5th/2000
Throughout the  weekend  of June 2nd, 3rd and 4th the Lockheed flew in support of the
Montreal DREAMS TAKE FLIGHT  committee.  On Friday we operated four flights from
Dorval. There were "over donations", all seats occupied .
On Sat. we flew from Les Cedres Airport, just west of Montreal Island. Four flights were
filled there also. Then on Sun. the DREAMS committee had us operating from Cornwall,
Summerstown airport. Here we flew  three full flights.
During the day, at Les Cedres, the  passenger manifest names showed retired
Capt. Dave Walker on board.  Mr. Tom Murray, who joined the Company in 1941 in
Winnipeg, and subsequently moved to Dorval Tech Ops., enjoyed a flight.
Tom  worked on the Lockheeds and remembers them well. He is a good friend of
Dick Leigh, retired Superintendent of Maintenance who now lives in Sydney, B.C.
Retired Senior V.P. Flight Operations, Charlie Simpson and his wife Paula came out and
joined in the festivities.  Thanks to Lauentide Aviation staff  who hosted the Lockheed
for the day and provided hanger space for TCC, an unlimited supply of complimentary
supply of doughnuts, soft drinks  and coffee flowed all day.
In Cornwall we had Mrs. Marion Polson  on board,. Marion was a "Stewardess"
from 1941 through 1943. She remembers working the second scheduled trip from Moncton
to St.Johns Nflnd. in 1941. The captain was the late Walter Fowler. Marion enjoyed
reminiscing about the Lockheed days. She remembers flying when the late Babe Ruth
was a passenger.   Retired Capt.Murray Lunt and his friend Celine booked seats and
came for a flight. Murray said after the flight " I hear the Company is short of pilots.
I'm going to apply for my job again".  Good luck Murray !
Today (June 5th)  CF-TCC was flying with the M.O.T. representative on board, with
myself and Capt. Harvey Reid, carrying out a flight test and instrument rating renewal.
The aircraft is now back in the hanger, at Dorval, having earned a  a rest---but not for long.
Capt. Harvey Reid, along with Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Mike Clarkson from
Winnipeg, volunteered their time over the weekend.
On the weekend of June 16th,17th, and 18th, TCC will be flying from the Canadian
Aviation Museum from Rockliffe airport.
Anyone wishing to join the gang there and reserve a seat can do so by calling DREAMS
TAKE FLIGHT at 613-741- 9321 and ask for Andre' Cormier.
Andre' would love to hear from you.
On the 20th and 21st, TCC will be STARING in the making of a documentary TV video
on the life of Amelia Earhart. More on this later.

. Claude Constantineau thought this might interest you -
A trip to the Rockies and B.C.  May 25-29

May is a quiet  month to travel to the high tourists places so I suggested to my wife that we go west for a short trip.  The flight from YYZ to YYC was routine;  rented a car at Calgary airport from Alamo (best rate thru internet) and on to Canmore, about 15 km. S.east of Banff.

Stayed at B&B in Canmore, "the Lady Macdonald", good rate ($90. inc full breakfast), nice large room with w/r and right at the foot of the Rockies.  Next day, traveled back thru YYC on our way to Drumheller to visit the dinosaurs!!! Drumheller is one place you don't want to miss, about 175 km. south east of YYC, it has a world class museum with many exhibits of dinosaurs, fish, alligators  etc that inhabited  this place 200 millions years ago. The town is built in the bed of a river that flowed there at that time and it's unreal to see the sediments of long ago when the area was at the equator.

Banff is one of the prettiest cities in Canada, surrounded by  the Rockies.  I had been there the last time in 1957 as an army cadet in camp for 7 weeks and after some searching, I found the camp still there on the outskirt of  town but no longer used since 1997.  I walked thru the camp and the memories were overwhelming; 300 to 400 young (age 16 to 18) Canadian boys went there each summer between 1952 to 1997 to play at soldiers but more to get to know  Canadians from all over the country  and also to get some discipline into us!!!

Next day, on the old highway from Banff to Lake Louise, a spectacular drive interrupted by elks crossing the highway (don't use the Trans Canada  highway, the view is better on the old road 1a); then on our way to Kamloops, B.C. for overnight. Next day on to YVR. The way from Lake Louise to YVR is continuous mountains, lakes, huge cedar trees and lush, green valleys  near YVR.  Last night at Holiday Inn at YVR airport with a good discount, flight back to T.O. next morning.  Total trip 1675 km., expense $1200 all included (4 nights, meals, car with $50.00 drop charge at YVR).
