Subject: Re[2]: AUTOPASS - CHILD DECLARATION FORMS

REMINDER

Personnel brought to our attention that not many declaration for child
dependency forms have been submitted this year.  Perhaps everyone is too busy
with the AC/CP integration.

The deadline for submitting Declaration forms for children 18-24 was
October 31st and anyone who forgot is given a grace period until Friday,
November 17th otherwise their children will be deleted from CHIP.

Active AC employees based in Canada must forward their form by comail
to their local Personnel Services.
All AC active employees based elsewhere, retirees, widows and widowers
of AC directly to Industry Travel, Air Canada Centre (ZIP
1245), P.O. Box 14000, Dorval, Quebec H4Y 1H4 or fax to (514) 422-5979.

. Help!
Margaret Cantwell was recently in contact with a Mr.Rob Neillands in England.
The reason being that he placed a letter in the Times Colonist asking any veterans who
were in the Battle of Normandy and had interesting things to tell, to please write him.
I believe he is a writer.  Rob can be contacted email     This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Margaret goes on to tell us that -
I contacted him because I thought he might be able to tell me if Ken's squadron,
the Queen's 600 RAF, was still functioning etc. I want to visit it when I am over there
next year.  He emailed me immediately and said yes it is and he would get the details
and send them. He then put me in contact with a Mr. Tyson who is the editor of the
Squadron News letter and is sending it to me . When he verified Ken's connection
(he joined the Squadron in 1938) he again contacted me and said I been made an Associate Member of the Squadron !
(Nice touch! - eds)

. Found on the internet.
AIR CANADA said recently that it is looking at acquiring more   Airbus, BOEING
and Bombardier jets as part of its ongoing fleet   renewal program.
In a conference call with reporters on Air   Canada's third-quarter results,
Robert Milton, president and chief   executive, said the airline was looking at
replacing about 100   aircraft in the "lower end" of its fleet, including its McDonnell
Douglas DC-9s, Boeing 737s, Fokker F-28s and British Aerospace BAe   146s.

LOUISE THADEN'S TRAVEL AIR FINDS A HOME:
It is the best museum you've never heard of, and now it is the new home of a
rare piece of aviation history, the 1929 Travel Air built for racer Louise Thaden for
that year's All Women's Transcontinental Air Race.  To see it, set your GPS
for the Will Rogers World Airport (OKC) in Oklahoma City, Okla., home to the 99s
Museum of Women Pilots.  The museum is a treasure trove of items, many of them
belonging to Amelia Earhart, the 99s' founder.

Iraq Says National Airline to Fly Again
Iraqi Airways, whose aircraft have been grounded since the 1991 Gulf War, plans
to resume domestic flights Sunday.  Flights would resume on November 5 between
Baghdad and the cities of Basra, 375 miles to the south, and Mosul, 270 miles to
the north. Repairs at Basra and Mosul airports had been completed and the flights
would use planes already in Iraq.

Star Alliance partners Singapore Airlines Ltd and AIR CANADA   said they had
sealed an agreement on code-sharing, a practice   which allows passengers to
connect seamlessly from one carrier to   another.
The agreement took effect from October 29. The   services are to be routed daily
via London Heathrow and three  times weekly via Copenhagen.

. Smilie.
NICE ESCARGOTS STOP CARGO (AND PAX):
This must have been a NOTAM that no pilot had ever seen --
"Runway closed on account of slime."
It seems that last Thursday heavy rains drove zillions of snails out of the waterlogged
ground onto the main runway in Nice, France, forcing its closure while maintenance
crews scooped up the unhappy little mollusks. By the time it was all over, the runway
was closed for five hours and over 6 cubic yards of the critters had been hauled away.
No word on whether the snails were of culinary quality.
