More Family Affair Sell-offs.
Eligible family members can take advantage of sell off fares for travel
from Canada to Nagoya, Osaka, or Tokyo, Japan, or Beijing and
Shanghai in China.
Return travel must be completed by March 31.
If that's not enough, eligible family members can travel from Canada to
Hong Kong at sell-off prices return travel must be completed by February 28.

. From the YYZNEWS issued by Brian Dunn -
Air Canada will be dropping its non-stop Edmonton-Chicago flight on
March 1st after only 22months of service. This was originally a Canadian Airlines
flight operated with a Boeing 737 but has not met expectations of Air Canada's
marketing department.
In an effort to keep the "growth" factor at zero per cent this year Air Canada has
started to withdraw aircraft from use.
The first aircraft this year is a 767-233 (C-GAUN -FIN604) which made its last
revenue flight on January 7th from YYZ to YUL and is now in storage.
More 767-200s are expected to follow over the next few months.
Air Canada is expecting delivery this summer of 4 new A300-300s and
4 new 767-300s which will add quite a few seats to the fleet.
This will mean that other aircraft types will have to be withdrawn, such as
DC-9s and 737s to compensate.
Later on in the year 3 new A319s and five new A321s are to be added,
although some of these delivery positions may slide, subject to negotiation
with Airbus Industrie and the lessors.
The federal government's trade mission to China (called Team Canada)
is using the newly painted 747-475 in full Air Canada titles and colours
(C-FGHZ /FIN885). The itinerary is outlined as follows;

. Air Canada 'Horizons' magazine -
Diane Carignan - editor of Horizons sends this information, mainly for the
information of the CAIL retirees, part of our new 'family -
Horizons is sent to active and retiree employees' homes once a month.
Horizons is published 11 issues/year (we combine the December/January
issue which is sent by mid-December). We do our best to mix business
and people news, hoping to please and interest as many readers as
possible.
To tempt you, the February issue, which is on its way to you as I
type, features stories on the top five goals that will take Air Canada
to a new and exciting future, info about what's going on at Toronto'
T-New, changes happening at the Vancouver International Airport, a
story about the Employee Climate Survey, a feature on the Maple Leaf
Lounges, and demystifying (we hope!) trip passes and how to complete
'em--they're the first articles that come to mind.
Our monthly staples include service anniversaries (listed by years of
service from 25 upward and station), retirements, and unfortunately,
an "In memoriam" column. We also feature a bulletin board column which
lists upcoming CAIRE and Pionairs activities, as well as upcoming ACRA
activities (the equivalent of CDN's social club). We do our best to
make sure folks get out there to meet, mix, and mingle!
It is my understanding that our mailing lists have been integrated.
The February issue is the first one sent to the larger Air Canada
family of active and retired employees.
If, for some reason known only to technology ghouls and gremlins, you
don't receive Horizons, please ensure your local Personnel or Pension
Services office has your latest address. I realize this isn't the most
customer oriented response, however, it is the only one I can honestly
provide at this time.
